There has been a long standing need to evolve a mechanism for funding some of the needy and bright students to visit abroad for presenting technical papers in some of the noted conferences/symposia from the funds of ISMAA. The proposal was initiated by the ISMAA (Indian School of Mines Alumni Association) on its meeting held on 04.09.2012 and 12.10.2012. ISM administration constituted a Committee for the said purpose and a mechanism has been evolved for addressing this issue for streamlining all such requests. The students now can apply to Dean (SW) through respective HOD?s in a given format for consideration. 10 fellowships each of Rs.50,000/- were approved by ISMAA, Dhanbad(HQ) for funding.
The scheme under ISMAA provides financial assistance to the students of ISM for presenting a research paper or chairing a session or delivering a keynote address in an international scientific event (conference/seminar/symposium). This covers the registration fees, boarding and lodging and travel cost subject to a limit. The eligibility is as follows:
This is a grant in which an amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- shall be made available to ISM students on refundable basis. For details please log on to ISM web site under alumni affairs link or get in touch with Treasurer, ISMAA, Dhanbad.
