About Me: Prof. Biswajit Chowdhury is a Professor (HAG) with extensive experience in academia and research. He has served in various academic positions, including Professor (2016-2023), Associate Professor (2010-2016), and Assistant Professor (2007-2010). Currently, he is actively involved in research focused on Nanomaterials and Heterogeneous Catalysis. His work encompasses the synthesis of nanomaterials, spectroscopic characterization, and catalytic studies in both liquid and gas phases. Prof. Chowdhury's research interests extend to process development for petroleum refining, biomass conversion, biofuel, CO2 capture technology, sustainable chemistry, and hydrogen generation. Prof. Chowdhury holds impressive academic credentials, including a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) conferred by Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2000, an M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 1995, and a B.Sc. (Honors) in Chemistry from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 1993 with first-class honors and distinction in subsidiary subjects. Throughout his career, Prof. Chowdhury has gained international experience as a visiting researcher and professor at prestigious institutions worldwide, including UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Ruhr University of Bochum in Germany, TUBITAK in Turkey, King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan, and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. His scholarly contributions are substantial, with 95 publications, 3 book chapters, 7 review articles, and several patents to his credit. He has an impressive h-index of 34 with 3487 citations and an i-index of 70 according to Google Scholar. Prof. Chowdhury has successfully guided 13 Ph.D. students to completion, with 5 more currently under his supervision. Prof. Chowdhury has led numerous research projects funded by prestigious organizations such as the Indo-German Center of Science and Technology, DST, CSIR, and UGC. His work on using CO2 and biomass as feedstock for producing fuels and chemical intermediates demonstrates his commitment to sustainable chemistry and addressing global challenges.
