About Me: Prof. Ashis Mallick is a distinguished faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, India. He holds a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore. His research focuses are mechanics of materials including thermal stresses in an axisymmetric problem made of FGM materials, phase-field modelling, and nanostructured materials. With over 100 publications and significant citation impact, he has guided numerous B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. scholars. He has held key academic roles, including Associate Dean (Student Welfare), M.Tech. (Design) Coordinator, 3-Yrs M.Tech. Coordinator (Kolkata and Delhi centre) and collaborated internationally, notably at the University of Lille, France, VSB Technical University, Czech Republic, National University of Singapore, Singapore, National University of Malaysia (UKM), Miami University, Oxford, USA. A fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India), Prof. Mallick is known for his contributions to research, teaching, and institutional development. Prof. Mallick thanks to the Government of India for providing various educational support and facilities. He also wants to express his sincere gratitude to the Singaporean Government for providing full financial support for his higher studies (Ph.D.) at NUS, Singapore. Special thanks to his M.Tech supervisors, Prof. Dumir (IIT Delhi) and Prof. Dube (IIT Delhi), and Ph.D. supervisors, Prof. Srikanth Vedantam (NUS, Singapore) and Prof. Lu Li (NUS, Singapore), for their uninterrupted support in building up his academic career.
