Dr. Manish Kumar Jain is a dedicated educator with over two decades of teaching experience in Environmental Science and Mining Engineering. As a Professor at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, he has mentored numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, guiding them in research and practical applications of environmental management in mining. His teaching philosophy integrates theoretical knowledge with real-world case studies, emphasizing sustainability, pollution control, and advanced environmental monitoring techniques. He has designed and delivered courses on air and water quality management, environmental impact assessment, and mine waste utilization, ensuring students gain both academic excellence and industry-relevant expertise. Dr. Manish Kumar Jain holds a distinguished academic and professional career, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. With over two decades of experience, he has held key positions including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, as well as Lecturer at NIT Rourkela and Anna University, Chennai. Beyond academia, he has been appointed as an expert member by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), and the High Court of Jharkhand, contributing to policy-making and environmental assessments. He has also served as an expert auditor for ICFRE, Dehradun, playing a pivotal role in developing the Environmental Performance Rating Index for Indian coal mines. Dr. Manish Kumar Jain has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to environmental science and mining research through several prestigious awards and honors. He was awarded the Prof. (Dr.) H.R. Anireddy Award for Mining Engineering Research (2018) for his significant work in environmental sustainability in mining. He has been appointed as an expert member by various government bodies, including the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), and the High Court of Jharkhand, for addressing critical environmental and air pollution issues. Additionally, he has served as an expert auditor for ICFRE, Dehradun, contributing to the development of the Environmental Performance Rating Index for Indian coal mines.
