About Me: Pankaj Mishra is a physicist specialising in soft condensed matter physics, with expertise in the theory and simulation of colloidal suspensions and liquid crystals. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Banaras Hindu University, where he focused on the molecular theory of liquid crystals. He has held postdoctoral positions at JNCASR, Bangalore and Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf, where he collaborated with leading researchers in the field. In his research, he studies the structural properties and freezing transitions in complex fluids using integral equation theory, classical density functional theory and computer simulation. He has published several research papers in renowned international journals such as Physical Review Letters, Journal of Chemical Physics, J. Phys. Condensed Matter, Molecular Physics, Liquid Crystals, Journal of Molecular Liquids and Fluid Phase Equilibria, etc. Currently, his research focuses on the transport properties of active Brownian particles and active bio-molecules, exploring their dynamics and interactions in complex environments. Dr. Mishra has supervised several PhD students and led multiple externally funded research projects. Beyond research, he has contributed to academic administration, innovation and incubation initiatives at IIT(ISM), Dhanbad, including development of advanced laboratory facilities and high performance computing clusters. He is a life member of the International Liquid Crystal Society, Indian Liquid Crystal Society, Indian Physics Association and a member of the International Association of Colloids and Interface Scientists.
