About Me: I have obtained my Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 2002. After obtaining my Ph.D. I, have worked with Prof. Chee-Hun Kwak as a post-doctoral fellow at Suncho’n National University, South Korea for one year. Our work with Prof. Chee-Hun focused on development of cyclam based transition metal complexes for catalytic applications. Subsequently I moved to work with Prof. Myoung Soo Lah at Hanyang University, Ansan Campus, South Korea, where I worked as a Research professor till November 2007. Our work with Prof. Lah was focused on development of novel Metallo-macrocycles for potential application in organic transformations and on Host-guest chemistry.

Research Interest: Our work is focused on Host-guest Systems, Bio-inorganic Chemistry, Bio-active Molecules, Molecular Catalysis, sensing and molecular recognition. We explore various molecules for their sensing properties primarily in detection of metal ions. Our group also work on biomimetic molecules that mimic specific Metallo-enzymes. We are also exploring the potential of transition metal complexes for their biological activities such as anti-bacterial, anti-cancer activity etc. Some of our students are also exploring Metallo-cage host molecules and their potential towards organic transformations. Some of our work also is focused on development of MOFs for carbon dioxide conversion to useful chemical products.
