About Me: Sagar Pal is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. He also holds the position of Tata Steel Chair Professor at the Institute. He was an Erasmus+ Fellow at the University of Coimbra, Portugal during November 2025. He was also a DAAD Fellow at University of Siegen, Germany in the year 2012. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He was the recipient of MRSI Medal-2023. He also received the Professor R. D. Desai 80th Birthday Commemoration Award-2021, given by Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata. He served as the Dean (Research & Development) of the Institute, following his previous role as Associate Dean (R&D)-Research Infrastructure and Head, Central Research Facility of the Institute. Currently he is holding the Post of Head, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad.
