About Me: I am currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Environmental Science & Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. With a career spanning over two decades, I have made significant contributions to advancing research on Municipal Solid Waste Management, E-waste recycling, and the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Remote Sensing (RS), and Geographic Information System (GIS) in environmental planning. In addition, I have been appointed as the Tata Steel Chair Professor. I hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, an M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, and a B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Surat. This robust academic foundation has enabled me to pursue interdisciplinary research to address complex environmental challenges and develop sustainable, science-driven solutions. My research has been widely disseminated through numerous publications in high-impact international journals and presentations at globally recognized conferences. I have been honoured among the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University and Elsevier BV in 2021, 2022, and 2024. My areas of expertise encompass solid and hazardous waste management, water treatment, climate change impact assessment, and sustainable urban development. Beyond research, I am deeply committed to academic mentorship, guiding Ph.D., M. Tech., and B. Tech. Students in pioneering research that contributes to the field of environmental engineering. In my capacity as the Head of the Centre for Water Resource Management (CWRM) at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, I lead initiatives that address critical water-related challenges through scientific and technological innovations. With an unwavering dedication to environmental sustainability, I continue to spearhead transformative research and collaborate with leading institutions worldwide to develop strategies for waste reduction, resource conservation, and environmental protection. Currently, I am also working as the Associate Dean (Research & Development), administering institutional research activities, collaborations, and innovation initiatives.

Research Interest: Application of LCA and Remote Sensing & GIS In Environmental Management, Municipal Solid Waste Management, Water Treatment, Impacts of Climate Change. E-waste Management.
