About Me: Dr. Sanatan Mandal is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. He has also worked as a Temporary Faculty at the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management, NIT Jamshedpur.

Research Interest: Northeast Indian Anglophone Literature, Oral Tradition/Literature, Indigenous Studies, Postcolonial Studies, Historical Fiction, and Myth Studies

Awards and Honors

  •  Have been awarded a Gold Medal for securing the position of First Class First in B.A. Hons. in English Literature in 2015.
  •  Received NET JRF (UGC) in English Literature in 2017. 
  •  Have been awarded the IIARP Excellent Paper Award for presenting my article “Asserting Naga Cultural Identity and Challenging Colonialism in Easterine Kire’s Sky is My Father: A Naga Village Remembered” at the International Conference on Economics, Business, and Social Sciences (ICEBTS 2021), organized by International Institute of Academic Research and Publications, Bangkok, Thailand.
