About Me: Dr. Satadru Das Adhikary is currently holding the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad. Prior to joining IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at National University of Singapore (NUS) for 2 years 3 months. Dr. Adhikary received his B.Eng. with first class honors from IIEST, Shibpur in 2007 and Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2014. He has published two patents and developed 4 GUI-based computer programs out of which 2 are filed for Copyright in India. In total, he has 13 years 1 month of research, teaching and industry experience till November 2024. Till now, he has published 64 articles, in which 10 articles as book/book chapter, 25 articles are in International Journals, 17 articles are in International Conference Proceedings, 12 articles as reports, thesis, magazine and research bulletin. He is the recipient of “Promising Young Structural Engineer Award 2020” from Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE). Currently, he is serving as an Associate editor of ASCE Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction Journal from July 2020, Technical Committee Member: IEC Impact and Explosion of RILEM, Europe, Associate Member of ACI Committee 370, Blast and Impact Load Effects, Working Group Member of TG 2.12-Protective Concrete Structures against Hazards of International Federation for Structural Concrete and Technical Committee Member of Blast, Shock and Impact of ASCE. He served as guest editor for November edition of 2021 of the Indian Concrete Journal (ICJ). He is a Member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Member of American Concrete Institute (ACI), Member of RILEM, Member of The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) and Life Member of Indian Society for Construction Materials and Structures (ISCMS). He is the reviewer of various Journals such as American Concrete Institute (ACI) Structural Journal, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Material Journal, ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering, ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, Construction and Building Materials, Cement and Concrete Composites, International Journal of Impact Engineering, Engineering Structures Journal, Structures Journal from Elsevier, Structure and Infrastructure Engineering Journal from Taylor and Francis, Advances in Structural Engineering Journal from SAGE Publisher, Shock and Vibration Journal from Hindawi Publisher, Proceeding of the ICE - Engineering and Computational Mechanics Journal, Indian Concrete Journal, Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series A - Springer Link etc. He had delivered invited talk at IEI (India), BIT Sindri, NIT Warangal, SVNIT Surat and Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE) (Eastern Zone), Kolkata. Till now, he has guided 2 PhD, 15 M. Tech. and 19 B. Tech. students and currently guiding 3 Ph. D. students. His research interests encompass a wide spectrum of areas such as blast, impact and fire engineering, sustainable structural materials, structural concrete and steel, protective technology, repairing & retrofitting of structures etc.
