The Department of Civil Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad was established in 2013, as part of an institute with a rich legacy spanning nearly 100 years. Currently, the department offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs in Civil Engineering with four major specializations: Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Transportation Engineering. The department is presently located in the Academic Complex Building of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, providing a modern and well-equipped environment for academic and research activities.
Admissions to the B.Tech program are conducted through the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) [JEE (Advanced)], while admissions to the M.Tech program are based on the GATE exam. The department comprises a team of dedicated faculty members committed to nurturing young minds and advancing knowledge in the field. With a strong emphasis on teaching, training, and research, the department strives to be a leading center for innovation and excellence in Civil Engineering.
